(The first time he assumed that being sexually actively meant I needed to prevent pregnancy and the second time I mentioned dating someone and he assumed the person was a "he".) Given that he's openly gay I'm confused why he would assume a patient is straight? I hope he can use gender neutral / inclusive language in the future.

The Doctor should have read the letter from the Surgeons office before seeing me. The surgeon specifically required an EKG before surgery because I am over 50. If I had not pointed that out I would have been forced to return for an EKG.
